RADIESSE® Volumizing Filler
RADIESSE® is a synthetic injectable filler approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for reducing moderate-to-severe wrinkles, folds, and creases around the nose and mouth by stimulating the skin’s natural collagen production. It provides a safe, effective, and long-lasting alternative to other dermal fillers for smoothing wrinkles and enhancing facial volume and contour.
Book OnlineWhat is RADIESSE?
RADIESSE filler is made of microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. The microspheres consist of calcium hydroxylapatite, a substance that promotes collagen production. When injected into lines and wrinkles, the new collagen smooths out the skin and adds volume.
Applications of RADIESSE Volumizing Filler
RADIESSE can be used on various areas of the face and body, including correction of depressed scars and improving the appearance of:
- Nasolabial folds (lines from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth)
 - Marionette lines (lines running downward from the corners of the mouth)
 - Downturned corners of the mouth
 - Jowl pre-sagging
 - Chin wrinkles

RADIESSE is also FDA-approved for restoring and correcting signs of lipoatrophy (loss of fat beneath the skin) in patients with HIV.
RADIESSE Procedure
Before treatment, the area is cleaned. Injections are administered with a fine needle and typically take about 15 minutes. There is minimal downtime, and most patients return to normal activities immediately. RADIESSE can be mixed with lidocaine for a more comfortable injection. Usually, only 1 or 2 treatments are needed to achieve full benefits.
Results of RADIESSE Volumizing Filler
Results are visible immediately after injection and can last up to a year. Since effects are temporary, repeat treatments are necessary to maintain results. Touch-up treatments may help prolong the effects.
Side Effects of RADIESSE Volumizing Filler
Side effects are usually mild and temporary, occurring at the injection site. These may include:
- Mild irritation
 - Swelling
 - Itching
 - Redness
 - Bruising
 - Tenderness

Allergy testing is not required before treatment because the calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres are similar to minerals naturally found in the body.
